A wedding is undoubtedly a festive and joyful celebration. This day will be remembered for a lifetime by the newlyweds and their guests. This event is shrouded in many secrets, traditions and rituals. Probably, everyone will be able to name at least a few signs related to the wedding. All of them are different and may differ, but basically they are a list of tips that must be followed so that everything goes well and family life develops in the best way.
Most signs are associated with the newlyweds or the wedding itself, but do not forget that witnesses also play an important role in the whole action. We decided to deal with signs that are associated specifically with them and not only.
Signs for witnesses at the wedding
In fact, there are not so many signs for witnesses. The most important and famous among them are the following:
• It is better to take unmarried girls and unmarried guys as witnesses. It is believed that then the life of the newlyweds will be long and happy. Do not choose divorced witnesses.
• It is better for a witness to wear a gold, blue or pink dress for a wedding. These colors will bring good luck for the young couple. The witness herself needs to have at least one green object with her, this will help her in her search for a good husband.
• If at the wedding at the table the witness accidentally pulls the tablecloth over herself – to an early marriage. Some advise witnesses to specifically pull the tablecloth for greater luck in their search.
• Another sign, fortunately for the witness, is to receive a box or pillow from wedding rings. She must keep it until her own wedding.
• Also, for a quick marriage, it is recommended to make at least one accessory for the bride’s outfit or pin pins to it while putting on the dress. The main thing is not to inject yourself – this is not good.
• The most famous sign for witnesses is to catch the bride’s bouquet by the witness, and the garter by the witness. It turns out that this tradition dates back to the time of Kievan Rus. Then the bride gave a bouquet to her best friend, whom she wished happiness. Over time, the custom has changed a little, but has not lost its significance.
• They say that you can be a witness or a witness at a wedding twice, and on the third – you already need to celebrate your wedding. Otherwise, there is a risk of remaining unmarried or unmarried for a long time.
In general, the role of witnesses is very important and responsible. They should help the young couple in everything during the wedding, as well as in its preparation.
Unusual wedding signs and customs of other countries
If the witnesses at the wedding, the signs and customs that are associated with them at our weddings, are still clear to us, then there are those that can hardly be called ordinary. For example, in some Scottish villages, it is customary before the wedding to pour mud and a special mixture of various unpleasant components on the future bride, then, in this form, she is led through the village as a sign of the ritual. They say that this tradition is connected with the fact that after such an action, all the troubles in family life will seem like nothing. There are also unusual rituals in one of the nationalities of China. A month before the wedding, the bride should cry every evening, 10 days after the start of the crying season, her mother begins to cry with her, then her grandmother, sisters, friends. Representatives of the Chinese people believe that in this way the bride will cry out all her tears, and family life will be happy and without tears.
We can also meet unusual signs, for example, a wedding cannot be held in May, otherwise, the young will “toil" all their lives, or on the night before the wedding, the bride should sleep with a mirror under her pillow. There are a lot of different signs for such an important day in everyone’s life, but it’s up to you to believe them or not. The main thing is to do everything to make this day the brightest and most beautiful in the life of the newlyweds. Still, family happiness does not depend on signs, but on the wife and husband.
