Real stories that could not be imagined

Each area has its own "stars", and an outstanding person is not always a model of decency and morality. And certainly this cannot be said about celebrities from the underworld. However, many of them have achieved such fame that filmmakers could not ignore the stories of their lives. Today we have collected excellent representatives of the gangster biopic genre, which you can start watching tonight.

"The True History of the Kelly Gang" (2019)

A lot of pictures have already been written about the Australian criminal Ned Kelly, no less books have been written, probably, few gangsters can “boast" that he was played by cult personalities of his time, such as Heath Ledger and Mick Jagger. However, today we are talking about the "fresh" work of director Justin Kurzel. The role of Kelly here was played by a young actor George McKay, who simply delightfully got used to the role. The film is definitely worth your attention, in addition, your man will probably be interested in watching it!

"Legend" (2015)

A pathetic story about British twins, part-time gangsters named Ronnie and Reggie. The guys "worked" in London in the 60s of the last century. In addition to their criminal adventures, the twins were known for their instability, which further strained the police throughout the country. At the same time, ordinary citizens considered them almost heroes, which is very reminiscent of the story of John Dillinger. In Brian Helgeland’s film, the roles of the twins are played by … one person – Tom Hardy. Intriguing, isn’t it?

"Black Mass" (2015)

Scott Cooper’s film stands out from the background of previous works from the list. The picture of the most brutal Boston gangster James Bulger makes the blood run cold – so powerfully Johnny Depp got used to the role of a criminal. There is an interesting point in Bulger’s history: in addition to committing crimes of incredible cruelty, he made a deal with the FBI and became their informant, but this did not help him get away from the law. The action in the film takes place in the 70s of the last century, and Bulger himself was arrested only in 2011. By the way, Bulger said that he absolutely did not like the film. But why don’t you take a look this weekend and form your own opinion?
