Well, here are the first surprises of the Oscars! The 50-year-old Bong Joon-ho, 50-year-old director of Parasite, won the Best Director nomination.
Recall that Sam Mendes (“1917"), Quentin Tarantino (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), Todd Phillips (“The Joker”) and Martin Scorsese (“The Irishman”) also fought for the award in this category.
Bong Joon-ho has already risen to the stage today – together with his colleague Han Jin Won, he received a statuette in the nomination "Best Original Screenplay", and also won the award in the nomination "Best International Film".
