How to be a good student

To become a good student and study without bad grades, read the following helpful tips:

1. Be active and responsible. Students who actively participate in scientific work and research are more responsible for their studies. Scientific and educational activities give a lot of knowledge and often require additional free time. During class, listen carefully, take notes, and ask clarifying questions.

2. Realize the importance of studying. Ask yourself questions: “Why did I come here? What am I doing here? Are there any other places where I should be right now?" The answers to these questions are the most important. If you understand that studying here is important for you, you will take it much more seriously.

3. Ask questions. In addition to self-search for information, ask questions to teachers. This way they will pay more attention to you. If you are studying a subject and do not understand something, immediately go and ask the teacher about it. Then the question will be forgotten and, perhaps, will fall on the exam, and you will not know the answer to it.

4. Know that student and teacher are one team. Some students believe that their main task is to answer the material correctly and get a good grade. That’s not all. If you know the material very well, this is a reason for the teacher to be proud of you. A teacher is not an enemy to his students; he may have the same interests in scientific work as they do. Try to cooperate with him.

5. Don’t sit in the back of the class. Successful students sit in front. Only there you can actively work. Students who sit in the back of the class are always tempted to mind their own business, which, in general, they do. It is probably not necessary to say how this is reflected in studies. In the end, you just go to classes and waste time without acquiring any knowledge. Do you need it?

6. Keep records. Successful students always write down everything the teacher says. If you don’t understand something during a lecture, don’t write down the information you don’t understand. Ask the teacher a question right away or do it after the lecture, and then write down his explanations in a notebook. Reviewing your notebook on the eve of the exam will help you remember the material better and prepare for it. In general, the more often you look at your lecture notes, the easier it will be for you to pass the exam later.

7. Understand what prevents you from learning. Successful students know what keeps them from learning science. For example, if a person has poor concentration, he needs to put both feet on the floor, constantly make eye contact with the lecturer, constantly take notes and ask questions. Such behavior will benefit not only you, but also your classmates, who will receive more information, and everything will be clear to everyone.

8. Discuss the information being studied. Successful students are able not only to listen to lectures, but also to discuss the information received. It is especially good to do this with friends after school. You will not understand even the most interesting lesson until you put the received material into words. Discussing lessons regularly makes them easier to remember than if you learned each lesson silently.

9. Learn the material throughout the semester. There are students who do nothing during the entire semester, but just a couple of days before the session they try to remember all the information for six months, and often they do it poorly. When you study the material, try to focus on it as much as possible. In this case, when you approach the exam, you will know absolutely everything that is required.

10. Time management. Successful students know how to manage their own time and don’t waste it. Allocate your time so that it always flows for your benefit.

If you want to be a successful student, follow the tips above.
