Recipes for February 23 for a loved one

Initially, this day was … women’s. Ladies who defended the independence of the fair sex and equal rights with men, have achieved the receipt of "their" day. But that was a long time ago – after the transition to the Gregorian calendar in 1918, Women’s Day was moved to March 8, and February 23 was declared Red Army Day, later Soviet Army Day, and then Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Despite the fact that the scale of the celebration of this date is inferior to the scale of the celebrations held on March 8, no one thought to forget about their beloved men – the defenders are congratulated, presented with gifts and have a festive dinner. We have prepared our own version of the menu, which can please the strong half of the family.

We will cook krill salad, fried sturgeon back, fried potatoes with prunes, rice dessert with dried fruits, persimmon salad, as well as citrus – a strong drink with a pleasant exotic taste.

You need to start preparing in advance – the same citrus needs time to brew.

So let’s start.

krill salad recipe

Ingredients:

  • Krill meat – 200 g
  • Fried mushrooms – 200 g
  • Onion – 4 – 6 heads
  • Mayonnaise – ¾ cup.

Cooking krill salad

Defrost the krill meat (it is not necessary to cook it – this product is sold already boiled and frozen), cut the mushrooms into slices, cut the onion into strips and sauté it. Mix the ingredients and season them with mayonnaise.

Fried sturgeon back recipe

Ingredients:

  • Sturgeon fillet with skin – 700 g
  • Lentils – 400 g
  • Lightly salted brisket – 100 g
  • Onion – 1 head
  • Cream – 0.5 cups
  • Olive oil – 0.5 cup
  • Cloves – 2 sticks
  • Greens – 1 bunch
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt.

Cooking fried sturgeon back

Soak lentils for 2 hours. Then boil it, remove the foam with a slotted spoon. Stick cloves into the onion and add to the lentils, put the diced brisket and a bunch of greens tied with a thread. Cover the pot with a lid, lower the heat and simmer for 40 minutes. After this time, remove the garnish. Let the water drain and set the brisket aside. Place the lentils back in the pot, season with salt and pepper and add 3 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil.

Cut the sturgeon into 4 pieces. Put a frying pan on the stove, pour a little olive oil into it and put the fillet there skin side down. Fry it over low heat for 8 minutes.

Put the lentils in the middle of the dish, spread the sturgeon and brisket on top. Pour sauce around. 

We’re preparing the sauce. Mix 4 tbsp. tablespoons chopped lentils with cream. Pass the mixture through a sieve, add 3 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil and beat with a whisk.

Fried potatoes with prunes

Ingredients:

  • Boiled potatoes – 10 pcs.
  • Prunes – 80 g
  • Butter – 4 tbsp. spoons.

Cooking fried potatoes with prunes

Slice potatoes and lightly fry in oil. Add washed prunes and continue frying. Watch for readiness.

Rice dessert with dried fruits recipe

Ingredients:

  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Grape juice – 1 cup
  • Water – 1 glass
  • Sugar – 0.5 cups
  • Gelatin – 8 g
  • Dried apricots and raisins – 250 g
  • Lemon.

Cooking rice dessert with dried fruits

Let the rice in, put it on a sieve and put it in a saucepan. Pour in the juice, add sugar, soaked gelatin and cook, stirring gently, until the liquid has evaporated. Cool the mass, add dried fruits to it, sprinkle with sugar, put in a mold and refrigerate.

persimmon salad recipe

Ingredients:

  • Ripe persimmon – 4 pcs.
  • Bananas – 2 pcs.
  • Tangerines -3 pcs.
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Full fat yogurt – ¾ cup.

Cooking persimmon salad

Remove the skin from the persimmon, remove the seeds and cut into small slices. After peeling the bananas, cut them into slices. Peel the tangerines, divide them into slices, remove the stones from them and cut each slice in half. Mix fruits in a clear salad bowl, drizzle with lemon juice and leave for 5 minutes. Then season with lightly whipped yogurt. Let the salad brew a little, after which it can be served at the table.

Ingredients:

  • Lemons – 6 pcs.
  • Vodka – 3 l
  • Sugar – 4 cups
  • Water – 1.5 liters.

Cooking citrus

The zest cut from lemons will need to be insisted on vodka. Make syrup from water and sugar. Exactly 24 hours later, pour the vodka into the syrup, stir and let stand. After pouring the drink into bottles, cork them.

After two days, the citrus will be ready for use.
