What to cook for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day, traditionally celebrated on February 14, is a special holiday. Probably because Love is the highest value, which one way or another aspire to all people without exception. On this day, I especially want to be with my loved one, enjoying every minute spent in his company. Therefore, the option of a romantic dinner is the leader among the popular programs for this day (more precisely, the evening). We decided to present you with a version of the festive menu, compiled taking into account the specifics of the occasion.

So, we will prepare such dishes: fried chicken with vermouth, battered potatoes, cherry dessert and strawberries in champagne.

Fried chicken with vermouth recipe

Ingredients:

  • Chickens – 2 pcs.
  • Flour – 0.5 cups
  • Butter – 3 tbsp. spoons
  • White vermouth – 1.5 cups
  • Onion – 8 heads
  • Starch – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • Greenery
  • Pepper.

Cooking fried chicken with vermouth

Chop the chicken with bones into pieces. Prepare a mixture of flour, salt and pepper, roll the pieces of poultry in it and lightly brown the meat in oil. Add wine, onions, herbs there and simmer for about half an hour. You can add starch to thicken the sauce.

Potatoes in batter recipe

Ingredients:

  • Potato – 3 kg
  • Flour – 6 tbsp. spoons
  • Milk – 1 glass
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Dutch cheese – 100 g
  • Melted fat – a third of a glass.

Cooking potatoes in batter

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into large strips. Pat it dry with a paper towel and dip it into the batter. Mix thoroughly – the potatoes should be covered with a thin layer of dough.

Take the potatoes with a spoon and fry them on both sides in hot oil. 

Cooking batter. Mix flour, grated cheese, eggs, pour milk and knead a semi-fat dough.

cherry dessert recipe

Ingredients:

  • Cherries – 750 g
  • Red wine – 0.5 cup
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 sachet
  • Starch – 1 tbsp. the spoon
  • Bitter chocolate – 25 g
  • Fresh cream – 0.5 cup
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp. spoons
  • 1 gingerbread.

Cooking cherry dessert

Wash and dry the cherries. Take the bones out of them. Mix wine with cinnamon and vanilla sugar, boil, put cherries in sauce, cover and infuse for 3 minutes. Dilute starch with a little cold water, add to wine with cherries and boil. Cool down.

Melt the chocolate and pour it onto the parchment paper. After the mass has cooled, cut the chocolate chips. Whip the cream into a thick foam. Cut the gingerbread into small cubes. Place the cherries in a vase, top with whipped cream, sprinkle with chopped gingerbread and chocolate chips.

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries – 500 g
  • Powdered sugar – 4 teaspoons
  • Pink champagne – 1 bottle.

Cooking strawberries in champagne

Rinse the strawberries with cold water, remove the stems and place the berries in 4 glass goblets. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, cover with a transparent film and leave to infuse in a cold place. After an hour, put the glasses on a tray and fill the berries with chilled champagne. A good addition to the “drunk" strawberries is a delicate biscuit.

The festive menu should not be plentiful – dishes are designed to please lovers with their taste and give them energy, and not take it away, otherwise a romantic dinner will be the end of the program, and not its beginning, as planned.
