Shopaholism. How to be saved from this?

4

If you go to buy some things for any reason or even without it, spend more than a third of your income on unplanned purchases, it is quite possible that you are a shopaholic. You need to get rid of this addiction.

More often, a shopping mania haunts the beautiful half of humanity, but there are times when men are also diagnosed with a “shopaholic". In any case, it is necessary to be treated for this kind of ailment.

Both external factors and personal experiences could develop a bad habit. External factors include advertising, store promotions designed to lure customers; aggressive marketing. Personal experiences – loneliness, low self-esteem, salvation from life’s routine.

To get rid of the habit of constantly running around the shops and sweeping goods from the shelves for which there is enough money, analyze your life. Maybe something in it needs to be changed? Set a goal that requires a large amount (for example, an expensive vacation or a car). Then you will have a significant reason not to overspend.

If shopping is a cure for loneliness, try switching tactics and just making new friends. Interest clubs, social networks on the Internet, neighbors, work colleagues – so many interesting things; communicate more, and stop feeling lonely.

You should not amuse yourself that a new handbag will increase self-esteem. This is a psychological problem that is solved by a professional psychologist and your desire to change your life in a positive way.

Do you escape the routine by going to the store? But what about the gym, hobbies, self-care? All this will dilute the daily life. Or maybe you have long wanted to start a business? Go ahead, now is the time to do it.

When you go to the store, make a list of things you really need and stick to it strictly. Happiness is brought not by a huge pile of rags, but by that handbag or hat that you have long wanted to buy, and which decorates and makes only you unique.

What if the purpose of the relationship is something unconditional for which both the man and the woman could take responsibility? What if this is… the practice of love? Love is what is within us; something for which we are responsible in both good and bad times. Love allows us to focus on our own efforts and responsibilities, as well as to notice the advantages of our partner. Too many people focus on taking something from the relationship. But, for a harmonious relationship, you need to give, take responsibility for your happiness, and then “invest” it in others.
